Ektron is getting some love… again. The Web CMS vendor has made it to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies for 2008. This marks Ektron’s second consecutive appearance on Inc.’s annual list – this year, at # 1,607.
The 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held and have had at least US$ 2 million in revenue in 2007.
Ektron’s bio on Inc. 5000’s web site features a touching “how-it-all-began” story: “The company was started after the two founders, working on a web site for a dentist, grew tired of entering endless amounts of dental information and built a text web editor that the dentist could use to input the information himself.”

Ektron has made us proud again, only a short while after it pulled accolades from Gartner as one of the strongest vendors in the marketplace today. Ektron and its flagship product CMS400.NET beat the big guys like Vignette, Microsoft, Open Text, Oracle and others for top spot in Gartner’s MarketScope for Web Content Management 2008. The only one it didn’t outdo was Interwoven.
Last month, Ektron also appeared on another list -- KMWorld’s List of Trend Setters for 2008.
But winning awards is not the only thing that Ektron does. This year alone, the company launched a partner portal to help meet the needs of their customers worldwide, opened offices in Canada, integrated CMS400.net with Silverlight and more.
We may as well start our own list and name Ektron the top company that never sleeps.
