For those of you overwhelmed by the notion of dipping your feet in the CMS waters, the folks at joomlaforbeginners.com are here to make your learning experience as easy as possible — and free.
Joomlaforbeginners has multiple, free video tutorials that give step-by-step instructions on installing and setting up Joomla!.
All in all, there are 2 videos for Joomla! 1.0 (how to install a website template and installing Joomla!) and 10 videos for Joomla! 1.5, with more on the way.
The vids range from brief 3-5 minute tutorials on creating articles and database backups, to an 11 minute tutorial on installing the community builder suite.
The current tutorials available for Joomla! 1.5 are:

The tutorials, hosted by Revver, are clear, easy to follow and should get you up and going on Joomla! in no time.
The website gives the impression of being built by genuine Joomla! fans and offers random free Joomla! related downloads, like a screensaver and a news widget. The group claims that they make these free videos out of their enthusiasm for Open Source and Joomla! in particular, stating that “the Joomla! community have given so much to so many, including us, that (posting free tutorials) is our way of saying thanks.”

The site is pretty sparse at this point, but it's also new and growing. The last tutorial was added just a few weeks ago, so don't be surprised if the number of tutorials continue to grow.
