The US arm of professional services giant Ernst & Young (EY) today acquired a digital solutions agency that partners with some major digital experience players.
Ernst & Young LLP bought NorthPoint Digital and will take in its 91 employees. NorthPoint Digital, based in New York City, partners with well-known web content management and digital marketing providers such as Acquia, Adobe, Sitecore, EPiServer, Hippo, Pantheon, Insite Software and Elastic Path. Ernst & Young is headquartered in London and has about 212,000 global employees.
EY officials said NorthPoint Digital architects, builds and implements technology platforms that can power large scale websites, apps and portals across a variety of devices. It enhances EY’s digital innovation services.
“NorthPoint Digital offers unique IP and credentials that we can immediately leverage to help further our growth across a full range of digital capabilities that are critical for our clients,” Greg Jenko, principal at Ernst & Young, said in a statement. “The talent we are bringing in can also help us embed digital capabilities in our services and sector offerings. These are skills that are increasingly in demand in a world that becomes more digitalized every day.”
EY looks to improve its digital and user experience services through the acquisition. The NorthPoint Digital professionals specialize in an array of web technologies, content management systems, database technologies, search tools, back-end integration and front-end development tools.
They'll help EY clients with an integrated approach across strategy, customer, creative, experience, analytics and technology functions, officials said.
“This is a very big day for NorthPoint Digital and we are very excited to join EY,” Jeff Penner, NorthPoint Digital managing partner, said. “Our experience by design capabilities combined with EY’s broad global reach can produce game-changing services for organizations around the world.”
