Advancements in computer-aided engineering and manufacturing seem to happen every day, but what about the way we approach documenting the products we create? It is easy to feel that while the world is changing around us, documentation processes are still stuck in the 80’s. The truth is XML and DITA have the ability to revolutionize product documentation much in the way that CAD revolutionized manufacturing.
Join Michael Boses, Director, XML Products at Quark Inc. and Co-Chair of the OASIS DITA for Enterprise Business Documents Subcommittee, as he shares extensive information on making the move to DITA. Boses will demonstrate how your existing Microsoft Office tools and Quark’s dynamic publishing offerings can improve product documentation quality, reduce costs, and provide a very rapid and quantifiable return on investment.
The seminar is being divided into two sessions. First there is an introduction designed to provide a good background in DITA for business managers. Then, after lunch, we will look at some case study metrics and draw on past experience to suggest successful approaches to getting started with DITA quickly. Attendees are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
