Description

The W3C Social Business Jam is an online conversation among leaders from around the world about the current state of social business, the future role that social technologies can play in improving the bottom line, and how social technology should evolve in order to support business objectives. A primary objective of the Jam is to cooperatively explore key trends and concepts in social business with an eye towards how social standards can facilitate business goals. The Jam should produce a better understanding for participants of how businesses are using social technologies and the challenges they face integrating the technologies into their existing environments.

The W3C Social Business Jam is a world-wide web-based event that takes place over a 72 hour period. A variety of business and technical discussions will take place online. Key decision makers and leaders in the social business space, both from business and technology providers, will attend the Jam to lend their insights to the discussion.

All discussion forums in the Jam are open throughout the entire 3 day jam event. Participants can switch between any forum of their choice at anytime during the Jam. Forum hosts will also be jamming throughout the duration of the event. There will be discussion forums designated to address social business topics. These forums will be led by recognized leaders in the field from around the world. Participants will be able to post and review comments, follow topics of interest, access “hot idea” discussions, and much more. From time-to-time participants will be presented with Quick Polls, a series of simple, online surveys about various event-related issues. Participants may log-in and out of the Jam at anytime during the event.

The W3C Social Business Jam will engage leaders, subject matter experts, organizations and individuals in this field to generate breakthrough perspectives that define success of social business. Following the Jam, W3C in collaboration with Jam participants, will produce a white paper summarizing key findings, and highlighting creative ideas and solutions.

The W3C Social Business Jam will be held on 8-10 November 2011 starting at 10:00 am, US Eastern Standard Time. Participants can enter and exit the Jam at anytime during the event, according to their convenience.
