AIIM to Conduct Seminar on RFP Reqs, Use Case Development

The Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) will be conducting a lunchtime seminar series in Denver, CO on 6 December.

The presentation, entitled RFP 101 - Requirements Management, features Performance Analyst Dave Halbig of First Data Corp. Halbig will go into the details of Use Case Development, a technique for gathering and socializing requirements.

The seminar will take place at the 4-Points Sheraton on Hampden. The cost is US$ 30 for AIIM non-members, and US$ 20 for members. You can make payments via PayPal or at the door, in which case you must pay with cash only, and add another US$ 5 to the cost.

UK Orgs to Make Major ECM Investments in Near-Term

ECM industry association AIIM Europe has just released its survey results from the AIIM Roadshow, which hit 5 cities in the UK last month. Survey says, good news — overall planned spend for ECM technologies is holding strong, despite falling cost-per-seat.

Which really just means plusher seats all around.

Considering its notable release of Acrobat 8 just months ago, and withstanding some recent criticisms we’ve published, it’s clear Adobe is not shy about raising the bar for the next generation of document collaboration and security software.

So it comes as little surprise that this year Adobe plans to drive towards ISO standardization of its PDF specification. According to Adobe Chief Software Architect Kevin Lynch, this means PDF will evolve from de facto security standard to de jure. As, he doesn’t hesitate to add, “it should.”
