Only six weeks after Open Text (news,  site) and SAP (news, site) extended their partnership to include a reseller agreement for the SAP Extended ECM application by Open Text, the two have decided to beef up retention management, compliance and CRM elements.

A new OEM agreement between eXo Platform (news, site)  and open source business process management( BPM) developer BonitaSoft means that from here on, eXo’s document management software will be integrated with an open source BPM system that has full development and support services for easy deployment.

The agreement between the two follows a number of years working together which resulted in the release of eXo’s DMS with Bonita’s BPM earlier this year. With this new agreement, the two companies will be offering users dedicated support and services for the new product that includes a document collaboration and validation system as well as automated records management.

Another partnership, this time between document management software vendor Datacap and enterprise content management and business process management developer FileVision (news, site) will see the two companies market their respective software solutions as a package.

Still only halfway through Oracle’s OpenWorld conference in San Francisco and the enterprise giant has made a number of announcements about the future developments with the company. In particular, the decision to integrate business applications with the document management component of its Enterprise CMS platform caught our attention.

What Oracle (news, site) hopes to give application users with its new Enterprise Application Documents solution is more efficient business processes that until now have been curtailed by the inability of users to get a full 360 view of what documentation is available in the enterprise content management system.

Collaboration and improved process tools hit Appian which has press releases falling like Fall leaves to celebrate the launch of version 6 of its BPM suite.

In a recent Forrester Wave on Document Output for Customer Communications Management Software, Forrester acknowledges the landscape for enterprise communications software is changing. They mention a number of vendors who are offering solutions that work in the areas of interactive, on-demand and structured.
