MS CMS and MS SharePoint Merging Architectures

Not surprisingly, Microsoft is working on merging the core architectures of the SharePoint Portal and Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) products. The first version of the new architecture is due out with the Office 12 release late next year.

In one of the first public statements on the topic, Chris Capossela, Microsoft’s group vice president of Information Worker Product Group, indicated that the future of the two products was around more common technologies and an integration, if not outright convergence.

Humans Found to be Generally Unproductive

A recent survey conducted by Microsoft corp finds that workers average only three productive days per week and lays the blame on among other things, unproductive staff meetings.

69% of the 38,000 people surveyed considered meetings to be an unproductive use of time. A shocking finding indeed!

Yahoo 360Yahoo, a late comer to blogging, announces Yahoo 360. The free service gives existing and new Yahoo! users a place on the web to share everything with everybody, or somebody. Its a digital orgy with blogs, moblogs, photos, lists (e.g., favorite books), blasts, LaunchCast, and reviews.
