They have been mum on the details of the SharePoint roadmap. But with a SharePoint 14 Conference planned for October it was only a matter of time before they started giving us tidbits on the road ahead.
Not the first SharePoint 14 announcement, but certainly one of the most interesting so far is that Microsoft's FAST Search will be integrated with SharePoint 14.

Recommind, a leader in search-powered information risk management (IRM) software, has released results from a new survey about collaboration (or lack thereof) between enterprise IT and legal departments.
The survey of senior IT managers at enterprises averaging more than 17,000 employees examined the importance of eDiscovery to the enterprise as a whole, the coordination of eDiscovery efforts between IT and legal departments and the roles that each department plays in setting corporate policies and making technology buying decisions.
The results? Disparaging.

Adobe Systems Inc., publishing and design software company, unveiled the latest version of its flagship web-publishing software — Creative Suite 4.0 (CS4). The product is a not just a little update, but a major overhaul, according to the company.
CS4 is intended to make it easier to design web sites that combine different types of media. As presented in today’s web briefing, it is “something brilliant.” It is “web, video, design, photography — all in a box.”

Adobe Systems, a publishing and design software company, has reported that its quarterly profit fell 7%, but this is still better than what Wall Street has expected.
Higher operating costs and lower interest income contributed to Q3’s lower net profit. But the company is optimistic, as it plans to unveil new Adobe Creative Suite 4.0 in several days.

Alfresco Software, creator of the open source Alfresco ECM system, has announced that Adobe Systems has implemented Alfresco’s ECM capabilities into the Acrobat.com website. The system will now maintain hundreds of thousands — if not millions — of documents that can be uploaded, shared, converted and collaborated. This marks a giant step forward for Alfresco and all of the open source development community.
