Microsoft -- AJAX for ASP.NET (Updated)

AJAX for ASP.NETArriving one step at a time, and perhaps only as the buzz is cooling a touch, Microsoft announces the next (beta) version of their take on an AJAX framework. And though they have in the past released proprietary scripting solutions (JScript, for example), Microsoft has released a version of the framework — Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX v1.0 (previously called Atlas) — which talks about multi-browser and multi-platform support. However, there’s little surprise that Firefox is not widely discussed.

Sun Jumps for Open AJAX

Sun has announced its support of the AJAX application model by joining the OpenAJAX Alliance, as well as the Dojo Foundation. Sun plans to actively participate in these two communities, driving open standards for AJAX programming and increase interoperability across AJAX technologies.

Its pretty light weight for the time being and is obviously geared towards Telerik’s own ASP.NET rich callback component suite, but does offer some valuable resources for those just getting started with rich client AJAX dev.
