With it, you get document capture, enterprise content management, CMIS, open source and all brought together for intelligent PDF capture and search and workflow development.

Even with the holiday weekend, it’s been a busy week for document management. Alfresco has announced a technology partnership with Ephesoft for cloud capture, Microsoft has finally released SP1 for Office 2010 and SharePoint, Harmon.ie put  "social" in document creation, Adeptol upgraded its document viewing platform, while eFileCabinet and Uni-Data & Communications also team up.

Today, they resolve this with the addition of a new subscription offering -- Alfresco Team. And it has some new functionality you won't currently find anywhere else.

Autonomy has been working on getting the DoD 5015.02 certification for its Records Manager for quite some time. Finally, it has achieved it and can now go gunning for the really big contracts in not just the Department of Defense, but also across all other government and federal agencies.

You can say a lot of things about Alfresco, but you can't say that the company wastes time.

The quantity of digital assets we manage is going no where but up. Yet, a recent CMSWire poll revealed that almost 50% of respondents use things like "shared file servers and other less wonderful practices" to manage them. Given the state of DAM technology, this is clearly not the best approach.
