The ASP.Net CMS from Kentico is now ready for a major refresh. With a successful beta hot off the server and over 100 pages of improvements and changes, the company is now shipping its new product.

Telerik (news, site) has officially launched the latest version of its web content management system, Sitefinity, today. With a completely redesigned architecture, there are a number of improvements, not the least of which include advanced workflow and new e-Commerce capabilities.

It was only yesterday that we gave you the goods on the new open source content management project named Orchard (news, site). But we didn't know everything we wanted to know. So we reached out to Bertrand Le Roy, Program Manager for the Orchard project. Here's what he told us.

Maybe it is because Telerik (news, site) is finding Europe too small, or because there just isn’t enough business in Europe with all the purse-tightening that is going on. Whatever the reason, the Bulgaria-based company has announced it is expanding operations in  Massachusetts and opening a new office in Texas.

In addition to the new offices, the company has also announced that it is launching a new marketplace for add-ons for its Sitefinity ASP.NET Web CMS.

The release of Kentico (news, site) CMS v4.1 sees a number of upgrades to the Czech ASP.NET-based Web CMS that go beyond the usual bug fixes associated with a one point step-up.

Principal amongst those are an upgraded search engine, enhanced multilingual features and a new interface that enables the easy upload and manipulation of images.

If we don’t sound excited -- or even surprised -- well, that’s what you get for outlining exactly what you are going to include in your next update five months before you do it. Keeping promises is good though. All that really remains is to see whether Kentico CMS 4.1 has everything promised.

Telerik (news, site) launched a new site to highlight the power, flexibility and compatibility of its ASP/.NET-based content management system.

The best advertising for any product is to see it in use, which is why Telerik's showcase site looks pretty slick and features a gallery of about 375 real-world examples of Sitefinity CMS in use.

This Web CMS offers Silverlight tools and controls, and .NET reporting and management, which gives it wide appeal.

Perhaps, Telerik chose now to show off as it is starting to face a lot of competition with the open source, .NET-based Umbraco CMS proving itself in the market and Kentico with its new release due any day now.

Packed with a Flash tour, demonstration admin interface and a long list of awards, there is plenty of self-congratulation but also a decent guide to the systems behind the site.

There are also separate pages for business users and IT developers highlighting how those groups could benefit from deploying Sitefinitiy.

Telerik has just rolled out the latest version of Sitefinity, their light weight ASP.NET web content management system.

In version 3.6 of Sitefinity CMS developers will see a new backend architecture and a new API for improved extensibility. On top of this there is a number of other cool enhancements that made us dizzy with excitement. According to the company, the goal of 3.6 is to "empower developers to tweak every aspect of the core system." We'd say they're getting close. Let's take a peek.
