Open source business process management vendor BonitaSoft has announced the latest version of Bonita Open Solution 5.6. The new release offers personalization by role that allows users to focus on how they need to work.

Late last year BonitaSoft announced that it was moving into the US as more than one thirds of the downloads for its open source business process management software is happening there. This week it has announced that it has secured US$ 11 million in Series B funding that it intends to use to expand its reach and knock the likes of Oracle and IBM’s Lombardi off the top BPM spot.

BonitaSoft (news, site), maker of business process management tools, has released version 5.5 of Bonita Open Solution, their core process management suite. In this version, Bonitasoft is leveraging eXo's (news, site) xCMIS technology to more tightly integrate document management, BPM, social media and collaboration. The eXo and Bonita relationship allows users to directly access  services like enterprise social networking and document collaboration.

BonitaSoft announced the release of version 5.4 of its open source BPM platform, Bonita Open Solution. The latest release continues BonitaSofts’ crusade to democratize BPM by providing an easy to use BPM platform with features that rival commercial vendors.

A new OEM agreement between eXo Platform (news, site)  and open source business process management( BPM) developer BonitaSoft means that from here on, eXo’s document management software will be integrated with an open source BPM system that has full development and support services for easy deployment.

The agreement between the two follows a number of years working together which resulted in the release of eXo’s DMS with Bonita’s BPM earlier this year. With this new agreement, the two companies will be offering users dedicated support and services for the new product that includes a document collaboration and validation system as well as automated records management.
