In its quest to make all data, wherever it hides, available to Google's monstrous search tools, the company has released a new collection of Connectors that help tie together yet more data that may be hiding in previously inaccessible corners of an enterprise's systems.

Among the new Connectors is one for Salesforce which allows the Google Search Applicance to search any data in the salesforce.com CRM. As Salesforce is a big thing in many organizations, making that data available to users and help them find client information that may be stored in databases, spreadsheets and other resources.

Additionally, improvements have been made in the existing connectors for content management systems, including SharePoint, Documentum, FileNet. Notably, the SharePoint connector adds 64-bit Windows support, batch authorization and multiple site collection.

Connecting to the content stored inside a SharePoint repository is something every wants to be able to do. EntropySoft, a provider of Enterprise Content Integration technologies, is among those who offers a solution. And the good news is they have just updated their SharePoint Connector to provide even more of the integration requirements organizations are demanding.

With over 30 bi-directional connectors to many of the most-used enterprise content management systems, EntropySoft is helping organizations easily integrate the various technologies they use for content-centric applications.

Their newest connector is the EMC Documentum eRoom connector. Designed for version 7.x of eRoom, the connector enables you to read and write content in the eRoom repository, including to objects such as forums, tasks and projects.

As with all connectors, the connector is non-intrusive and there are no installation requirements for the eRoom server.

The EntropySoft Connector factory also includes connectors for HP TRIM, Oracle UCM, IBM WebSphere Portal Document Manager and Interwoven WorkSite. Plug-and-play EntropySoft connectors include major applications such as Microsoft SharePoint, FileNET P8, Open Text LiveLink and Interwoven TeamSite.

All connectors are written in Java and are accessible via Java or .Net and web services.

The EntropySoft connectors are OEMed through a number of solutions and partners, including search vendors like Endeca, and most recently eDiscovery vendor Kazeon. The latest OEM partnership is with Image Integration Systems, provider of the DocuSphere BPI solution.

We know it's true that Microsoft leads the way on office productivity with MS Office and Outlook/Exchange. But we also know that Lotus Notes still has a solid market share for e-mail as well.
