Server-Free Document Collaboration in 2010

Server-Free Collaboration in 2010, According to Content Circles"I believe Content Circles has significant market and technology advantages that dramatically set it apart from competitors,” said Derek Blazensky after joining the company's board of directors last month.

The expansion of  their team is only one way in which Content Circles (news, site) plans to keep their server-free collaboration appeal in 2010. We checked in with Malcolm Hobbs of the marketing team and this is what he had to say:

Content Circles: Collaborate Server-Free, for Free

logo-content-circles-2009.jpg Back when we first started talking about Content Circles (news, site), the collaborative content management tool that operates without a server, we thought it was a pretty big deal that the solution was offered for less than US$ 100 annually. Imagine our surprise when news broke earlier this week that the Personal Use license is now completely free.

This new wallet-friendly option comes after a handful of announcements about the company's efforts to branch out. Sri Chilukuri, Content Circles CEO, explains: "In the first half of 2009, the company was focused on adding support for Enterprise Content Management Systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, Xerox DocuShare and Alfresco Enterprise. Now that we have succeeded in this endeavor, we are ready to expand beyond the enterprise."

It's always kind of awesome when expanding beyond the enterprise translates to free stuff, don't you think? Chilukuri added, "Offering a free Personal Use License to Content Circles will give our prospects and customers a chance to experience the power of the solution and get a deeper understanding of the potential business, not-for-profit and education solutions that can add value to all sizes and structures of organizations."

Once the solution is downloaded and installed, the user can create a collaborative Circle, invite as many members as he or she likes, and add 100 files of up to 25MB each to that Circle. All of that lovely information can then be shared between Circle members no matter their time zone, and regardless of whether or not they have an Internet connection. Interested? Sign up for and install the personal license here.

Content Circles, Alfresco Team for Simple but Robust Doc Collaboration

Content Circles, Alfresco Team for Simple but Robust Doc Collaboration.jpgContent Circles (news, site) keeps right on connecting. The company burst onto the scene not too long ago with their innovative, server-free collaboration solution. Shortly after the debut, they released a Xerox DocuShare connector which allows DocuShare users to share documents with a specified team, sans server. Now, the company is expanding their circle again by adding a similar connector, this time with Alfresco Software.

Who needs an internet connection? Not Content Circle users. The new connector enables Alfresco ECM users to share, collaborate, track and manage content offline or online.

Content Circles Brings Collaboration to Xerox DocuShare

logo-content-circles-2009.jpgContent Circles, the company behind the innovative, server-free collaboration solution Content Circles 1.0, has kept their word and released another tool to connect their users to the world of ECM.

The new connection brings together Content Circles 1.0 and Xerox DocuShare. After purchasing a subscription to Content Circles, DocuShare users can create a ‘Circle’ or workgroup of people they want to share documents with in a server-free environment. Documents that are pulled by the workgroup creator from DocuShare and placed into Content Circles will appear on the desktop of all Circle members’ computers for immediate access. Pretty nifty, huh?

To keep things in check and on track, Content Circles automatically creates a secure audit trail including details such as which docs have been edited and who has accessed them. The trail tracks DocuShare users as well as those who are off-line or outside the company.

To create or manage Circles requires a paid subscription to Content Circles (check out their pricing here) but those invited to a Circle can join for free. The DocuShare connector is currently available for a limited time at no additional charge, so if you’re ready to part ways with your server, try it here.

Is Simplicity Also the Answer for Enterprise Document Collaboration?

Content Circles - Simple Enterprise Document CollabortionSimplicity. It has a magic and a fragility all its own. Done wrong, it fails for not being enough, or for still being too much. Done right, we have explosive 140 char success stories like Twitter.

In what could either be a stroke of simple genius or just an attempt to strike whilst the economy quivers, Content Circles has stepped up to the plate with a super low cost (US$ 100 per year), server-free document collaboration and content management tool.

Perhaps they too see the magic. Let's have a look.

Content Circles: Collaboration on Server-Free Diet

Content Circles Offers Collaborative Work Without The Server

It’s not uncommon these days for a team of workers to be distributed across cities, states -- even countries. In fact, thanks to technology, worldwide team member distribution is becoming the norm.

In order to work collaboratively across time zones, most companies turn to Web-based content management solutions. Solutions that, while eliminating IT resource issues, still often require expensive training. In an effort to remedy this issue, Content Circles has released a server-free and easy to use collaborative content management tool called Content Circles 1.0.
