Many people may have spent their time wondering what will happen with Vignette now that Open Text acquired the company, but EntropySoft (news, site) doesn't seem to be one of them. Instead, they have spent their time working on an enterprise connector, making interoperability with Vignette that much easier.

In October, EntropySoft (news, site), a provider of content integration software, released an updated version of their product Content ETL, a solution for moving content between repositories regardless of location.

Now they take the Content ETL platform one step further, offering a standalone version designed for SaaS companies who want a way to integrate their client's existing content into their solutions.

Although cloud computing has not yet taken off big time, many organizations are looking more and more to SaaS service offerings instead of in-house solutions. This could include cloud storage, web content management, document management and application integration.

In many of these cases, documents are moved across the firewall in the SaaS service. By integrating EntropySoft's Content ETL, these service providers now have full document lifecycle capabilities, including monitoring and auditing. Standalone Content ETL offers both scheduled and on-demand content transfers.

The standalone version of Content ETL includes an embedded version of the Federation Server for simplified deployment. It can be upgraded to include a separate Federation Server. The standalone Federation Server includes the ability to perform transfers via Content ETL Web.

EntropySoft has a number of content connectors already for the most popular enterprise content management systems. So it would make sense for a SaaS vendor to consider the intergration of Content ETL to utilize these bridges that have already been created.

We know EntropySoft (news, site) best for their content connectors, but there's more to this company than connectors alone. They have released the newest version of their Content ETL (Extraction, Transform, Load) product, helping you move content between repositories whether they are on premise or in the cloud.

There may be a lot of buzz about the public preview of the proposed Content Management Interoperability Specification (CMIS), but it hasn't stopped EntropySoft (news, site), a provider of read/write enterprise content connectors from continuing to enhance and expand its product line.

Today the company offers the latest updates to its thirty some content connectors, including the ability to track changes in the repository.

BA Insights, a provider of content connectors, has just released the latest in a line of application connectors for SharePoint: Salesforce Connector for SharePoint.

The Salesforce Connector enables you to access data in Salesforce.com CRM applications and Force.com cloud-based applications within SharePoint search.

Adjusting your pricing model to bring more customers to your door has become a common theme lately. Vorsite (news, site), a provider of enterprise content connectors, has offered up their new pricing model designed to not only help them, but SharePoint as well.

Jahia's (news, site) United Content Bus has been launched at the Gilbane Conference in San Francisco, tying all of a company's content together via a single interface. 

On the move again, EntropySoft, an enterprise content integration specialist, is demonstrating their ability to provide interoperability between content management systems. EntropySoft creates connectors to various content management and portal systems, including SharePoint, Documentum, Oracle UCM, HP Trim and IBM WebSphere. 

Currently, their connectors are available written in Java, Flex and web services. Today they announce even greater interoperability by making all their connectors .Net compliant.

No one will argue that we need technologies and solutions that help us pull together and share content and information from the various content repositories we have in our organizations today. Gone are the days of single repositories for everything. That's why companies are diving deep into the content connector market to provide solutions to integrate content between repositories.

That's also why CMIS is such a desired specification for the enterprise content management market. But will this new spec, expected to be out late spring for a public review, be the demise of the content connector market?
