Portals and content management systems are widely used in organizations today. For many, the desire to integrate them into a single collaborative environment is critical. Jahia (news, site) has upgraded the enterprise version of its enterprise content integration system to version six, with a new front end, improved editing, JBoss document management and improved portal features.

One U.K. CMS vendor has launched a new solution designed specifically to provide this feature. e-Spirit has announced FirstSpirit 4.1 — a content management system designed with ease of use in mind.

Content management ain’t easy, but as our saying goes — it matters. Fortunately, companies like FatWire Software are making it easier to manage and access content across the messy, complex environments we often have to deal with. They have recently announced the availability of their FatWire Content Integration Platform as well as the beta release of the EMC Documentum connector to enable customers to more effectively manage content across complex environments.

Last month we reported that Open Text’s data integration strategy rested on the shoulders of the Genio product, a technology they bought alongside the Hummingbird takeover in ‘06.

Now we get to see the finished article with the official release of Genio v7. This 64-bit information management application transforms, cleanses and directs structured and unstructured content from a range of repositories.

Featuring web service support and full content integration capabilities, Genio laughs in the face of incompatible system interfaces and proceeds to process content and digital assets from data marts, ERP systems, mainframe systems, CRM, and so on. (And, of course, from various content management frameworks.)
