Following a well-publicized security breach that was discovered last month, document sharing service Dropbox is launching a beta test of two-factor authentication with some users. The new security feature, made available on Friday, August 24 to early Dropbox adopters using Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux PC, sends users a one-time mobile security code they must enter in addition to their standard password.

KnowledgeTree is back in the news after raising US$ 4.75 million in capital funding at the beginning of July. This time, the cloud-based document management vendor is announcing the release of Web Documents, which the company says will make collaboration a core business function.

While the emphasis has been on document management, it has also underlined the social aspects of managing documents, and will use a US$ 4.75 million Series B funding round to continue this development.
