ColumbiaSoft (news, site) ensures the new version of its document management system will work with Microsoft's new OS, plus it has made other improvements too.

We’ve got a little green for you today. Not green as in money of course (who has any of that these days?) but green as in a document management tool that saves trees and all that jazz.

A new version of Document Locator, ColumbiaSoft’s (news, site) paperless document management application, was recently launched. The tool works with Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, and offer customers security, nifty user interface features and reliability improvements in addition to a cleaner environment.

ColumbiaSoft™, a provider of document management software for a variety of customers, announced approval of Document Locator® for listing in the Construction Specification Institute’s (CSI’s) GreenFormat. Greenformat is a search engine firms can use to find green-certified products for construction. It also charges a thousand dollars a year for this listing. Apparently, it takes some green to certify a product as green. It is unclear whether any product backed by the thousand dollar payment is rejected for inclusion by Greenformat.

This version features many new improvements that will help customers to stay on top of their email. There are also new features that will allow customers to better organize, deliver and verify documents.
