Mimosa Archiving Solution For Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Mimosa Archiving Solution For Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Some companies are so on the ball they’re nearly ahead of themselves. Such is the case with Mimosa Systems (news, site) which has just announced that as of the end of this month, NearPoint will support Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 (MES 2010).

If you are familiar with MES then you might be a bit surprised with this as NearPoint for MES is a solution for capturing and archiving email, while MES 2010 on its own already has its own archiving function, which appears superficially at least, to be quite adequate.

Is IBM's Archiving Strategy on Solid Ground?

Is IBM's Archiving Strategy on Solid Ground? Early last month IBM (news, site) began the process of articulating its Smart Archive Strategy. Began, we say, because at the time of the announcement the company released IBM Information Archive, a disk-and-tape information infrastructure solution that offered a "unified storage” approach to archiving company information.

But they weren’t finished with that and only recently unveiled a number of other solutions that are designed to provide analytics and data discovery to companies looking to determine what information they should keep and what information they should bin.

Can't Tell an Email Archive from a Backup Solution?

CMS Watch Report on Email Archiving

Just when you think we’ve come so far, a report comes along and makes you question the whole thing. Case in point, a recent CMS Watch report found that enterprises tend to confuse e-mail archiving with traditional back-up and recovery.

What? Really? We couldn’t make this up if we tried.

TOWER's TRIM Context 6 Earns DoD 5015.2 Certification

TOWER has announced that its TRIM Context 6 has been certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) against the US DoD 5015.2 standard.

TRIM Context 6R2, which just came out, can now manage Chapter 2 (non-classified) and Chapter 4 (classified) records.

TOWER also earned certification on its paired TRIM Context and HP Integrated Archive Platform — the pairing of an enterprise content management system with an enterprise archiving solution that (neatly) complies with US DoD 5015.2.

Three cheers!

When last we reported on TOWER Software, it had joined with Vital Path to improve the staying power of legacy systems.
