It’s been a slow start to the year in GRC, but it looks like one where e-Discovery is going to play a major role, at least according to Nuix. Axceler and MetricStream have both entered partnerships with Jornata and Qualys, while EntropySoft has released a new connector with ZyLab for better e-Discovery.

One of the biggest issues around e-Discovery, apart from the fact that many companies don’t bother about it until they’re hit with an e-Discovery demand, is access to information in the many different silos across the enterprise. The new OEM agreement between EntropySoft and ZyLab aims to solve that problem.

Busy week again in the document management space. This time Fujitsu takes the limelight with its new scanning to iPhone and iPad functionality not to mention Chatter and Google Docs, Nuxeo previewed v5.5, while EntropySoft upgraded Content Hub. Perceptive and AssureSign have also signed a partnership agreement.

They talked about it at the SharePoint Conference in Anaheim earlier this month, but now it's actually available: EntropySoft Content Hub 5.2 -- and it comes with some nice SharePoint integration.

It’s the final day of the SharePoint conference in Anaheim, and there are just a few loose ends to tie up before leaving. While there has been a lot to think about over the past four days, there were a few releases that slipped under the radar from EntropySoft, RIM and CommVault, as well as early results of some interesting research from Forrester.

Leaving aside issues around the question as to whether you should be archiving information contained on Twitter -- considering the amount of nonsense that can be found in the twitter-verse -- EntropySoft (news, site) has added a connector to its Content Hub that will enable enterprises to archive that content.

And like every other contender, it's not enough to simply offer your wares, you have to play nice with the others.

This week in GRC, the issue of security features prominently with security issues around Android identified by Symantec, McAfee opens a new data center in the UK as part of its ongoing drive to provide content backup and security, Clearwell adds a legal hold module and ProofPoint releases a cloud-based email security and compliance package.

With the move to bring e-Discovery in-house well underway, one of the issues that is really going to cause problems is how to find data that is spread across numerous enterprise systems. For its part, Clearwell (news, site) is providing a solution by entering into an OEM agreement with EntropySoft, enabling its e-Discovery platform and tools to rummage around the silos of legacy systems.

Another busy week in the world of Document Management. With Windows Phone 7 offering email archiving by LiveOffice and Open Text and Oracle getting together for large volume email capture amongst other things, email has been the theme of the week. In other news, EntropySoft releases a SAP connector, while Box.net gets electronic signature.

Given that EntropySoft (news, site) has developed connectors for nearly all IBM (news, site) applications currently on the market, it was only a matter of time before the company released one for IBM’s social collaboration application Lotus Connections.

Busy, Busy, Busy. Labour Day weekend over and right back into it. This week document capture features quite large, with a couple of new solutions and Kofax hitting the high notes with its end-of-year figures. Hyland Software has also been looking at document and content security.

EntropySoft (news, site) continues its mission to provide easy information access with a new connector for Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2010 that can connect to mailboxes and public folders and supports all items available through web services.
