Ingeniux's New Virtual Hosting SAAS Plans

Ingeniux, an enterprise 2.0 WCM provider, has recently started offering three new SaaS packages for Ingeniux OnDemand, its hosted web content management solution.

The new approach is called "web content management by the slice" (hungry yet?) and allows customers to buy exactly as much of the Ingeniux CMS software as they need -- without the headaches of hardware and bandwidth -- all in a hosted environment.

Microsoft isn't the only game in town if you want to build your website in a hosted SharePoint environment. SharePoint360, a SharePoint hosting and consulting firm located in San Diego, has launched a new SaaS offering -- SharePoint360 Web.

Google announced today that they were opening up their online web site, Google Sites, to anyone who wanted to have one. Previously this service was only available to companies using Google Apps or to people who wanted to host their websites with Google but still had their own domain. Now, any registered Google user can sign up for a free website, prompting some to call it "Geocities 2.0", naming it after the ubiquitous free website provider of the mid-late 90s.

CushyCMS web content management

Managing content, especially if you have a large base of people contributing and editing, can be a headache if you aren’t already using a CMS system. The questions of how to integrate it all in a flowing environment can give IT guys and development teams an ulcer.

Stateless Systems has launched a private beta of a free online (SaaS) content management system called CushyCMS that aims to make life just a bit easier for website owners and designers the world over.

SharePoint Conference 2008

At the SharePoint Conference 2008, Bill Gates shared some interesting news in his opening keynote. Of course he has lots to brag about when it comes to the great SharePoint machine -- it reached 100 million licenses sold and surpassed sales of USD $1 billion this year.

So of course Microsoft would be planning even more solutions and capabilities that will encourage people to buy into the world of SharePoint. And it is becoming a world all on its own -- just look at the number of vendors who are partnering to provide integrated solutions (2,250 to be exact).

Feed.us CMS and Content Delivery Platform

Feed.us has taken a shot at the content management market and one that strikes a distinctly different approach to solving the typical problems with light-weight publishing. Via the combination of software-as-a-service (SaaS), XML data transformation and flexible input and output APIs, Feed.us thinks they've carved a foothold in the market. If they've played the cards right, it could be one that's going to make life easier for a whole lot of folks.

Come along for the ride as we spent some time in the mind of Feed.us co-founder, Rick Stratton.

meebo_logo.png

Everybody's getting into the multi-platform apps game (including Google, whose Maka-Maka may make mince meat of Facebook's piddly open apps party). Even Apple's opening to third-party apps for its iPhone offering.

Meebo is a hosted service that actually joins platforms instead of spreading seeds onto them. And frankly, it's past due for a little disruption.

There’s an interesting confluence that’s just starting to gain traction in the enterprise. This is the intersection of rich media, social networking, dynamic content management and the on-demand business model.

Purchased minutes can be shared among users in a DocZone environment.

Even if Microsoft can't completely get its act together when it comes to virtualization (cough-cough-Viridian), aficionados who see a niche to fill may still save the day.

Yesterday, and to raucous applause on our end, Michael Robertson launched ajaxWindows.

Imagine having your desktop -- no, your entire computer -- fully-functional and accessible from any system (Mac, Microsoft or Linux) and any browser.
