Open Text has announced today the release of “next generation” Web Solutions. The fancy name is, in essence, a new release of the company’s Web CMS child — RedDot. It’s a name change and a total rebranding makeover. With all the underlying RedDot WCM technology still in the backbone, it is now called Web Solutions.

The focus of this new release is on intranets, extranets, Enterprise 2.0 solutions and Web 2.0 tools that come armed with greater security and control over social media initiatives.

We had an opportunity to chat with Stefanie Lightman, VP of Marketing at Open Text, to get the scoop on the new offering.

Vital Path has just released a new version of its PathBuilder offering, in which vestiges of virtualization are used for the greater good: “in-place” records management (that’s VP’s specialty).

The answer is buyer’s remorse. The question is: what was the emotion felt by the senior leadership of all the organizations that invested in Hummingbird Enterprise just before their subsequent acquisition by ECM behemoth Open Text?

v5.1 of Open Text’s Livelink ECM - Vendor Invoice Management (for use with SAP offerings) now includes out-of-box reporting and analytics.

The ECM firm built Contract Lifecycle Management to specifically address contact creation, negotiation, fulfillment and renewals issues.

ECM provider Open Text has announced the availability of an Office Business Application for accessing, and managing, customer information.
