EVN Solutions has released a module that allows content managed in Drupal to be stored in the MarkLogic Server. The module includes many features that will ease integration challenges between products.

It’s been over a year since the last version of MarkLogic (news, site) server was released. With the release of v4.2 this week however, MarkLogic adds significant new features to the database including Information Studio, which the company describes as an “Extract, Transformation, Loading (ETL) tool", and enhancements to recovery functionality.

Mark Logic (news, site) has just announced that it is providing a new line of cloud services that will enable customers to access and use the MarkLogic server on Amazon EC2.

Apart from the fact that they will now be able to use Mark Logic software on a pay-per-hour basis, they will also be able to subscribe to it directly from Amazon Web Services for ease of access, and use only what they need to use.

The information-centric applications provider Mark Logic (news, site)  has just announced its latest step in extending the functionality of Microsoft Office 2007 with the release of Toolkit for PowerPoint.

It follows the release earlier this year of Toolkit for Word and Toolkit for Excel, as well as a connector for SharePoint, which integrated much of the functionality of Microsoft Office 2007 with the Mark Logic Server, an XML server that enables users to manage large amount of content with access to that content provided by XQuery.

Today’s a double whammy kind of day for Mark Logic (news, site). The information-centric applications provider not only has a new version of their flagship solution to parade around, but a new product for designing, developing and deploying applications as well.

World, meet both MarkLogic Server 4.1 and MarkLogic Application Services 1.0.

In a continued effort to provide integrated solutions with Microsoft productivity tools, Mark Logic (news, site) is now offering a toolkit for Microsoft Excel.

Their first foray in Office Integration included a Toolkit for Word that allows you to add custom metadata to Word documents to improve search and analytics and create better XML-based applications. It also enables you to view Word documents from the MarkLogic server.

At the same as the Toolkit for Word announcement, the MOSS Connector for Mark Logic was also announced. This connector automatically mirrors content from MOSS to the MarkLogic XML Server and can also integrate MarkLogic functions via SharePoint workflows.

Now, with the addition of a Toolkit for Excel, the integration is almost complete. The toolkit offers a number of capabilities including:

• Enhanced Search: Search across Excel books for worksheets, cells and formulas from within the MarkLogic environment, add the search results to an active workbook and more.
  
• Creation and Manipulation of Excel Workbooks: Create new workbooks from existing XML documents, manipulate and re-use workbooks stored in the repository with a built-in XQuery library and never have to run Office to do it.
• Custom Metadata for Excel Documents: Add and edit custom metadata across Excel documents.

In addition, an Excel add-in is included that will help you deploy web applications from within Excel. A sample application is includes that demonstrates how to use the toolkit.

Content solutions provider, Mark Logic (news, site) has secured US$ 12.5 million in further venture capital funding to help expand sales and development of its XML server and other products.

Continuing to move and shake the world of XBRL are our friends at JustSystems (news, site), who after announcing their new XBRL Report a couple weeks ago are back again with a partnership to leverage data aggregation, content creation and publishing of financial reports using the business reporting language.

The new partnership with XML server provider Mark Logic (news, site) was announced at the Mark Logic User Conference earlier this month in San Francisco.

MarkLogic Server now connects to SharePoint Server 2007 - or MOSS as we all like to say. This new connector, aptly called the MarkLogic Connector for SharePoint, enables advanced XML processing for MOSS, something MOSS doesn't do itself.

Mark Logic Corporation, whose products help to store, manage, search and dynamically deliver content, has launched MarkLogic Sever 4.0 — the newest version of its XML server. 

The 4.0 release aims to “improve search and delivery of unstructured and semi-structured data” — a goal for which Mark Logic believes organizations are actively searching.
