It’s been a busy week in the document management space. Adobe let loose its Document Cloud, Accusoft and EMC teamed up on a release, and Microsoft shared some new releases and promises of things to come.

Cloud management and migration specialist Metalogix announced this morning that it is buying MetaVis for its cloud collaboration service management platform. The price was not disclosed.
Metalogix CEO Steve Murphy told CMSWire the deal is designed to secure the cloud management and migration space in advance of the SharePoint 2016 release.

MetaVis just unveiled new capabilities for Office 365 and SharePoint Online that will provide users with tighter administration and governance of their cloud-based content. According to MetaVis, the capabilities fill important holes in Office 365 environments by offering views of everything that happens to content inside those environments.

Microsoft has just taken another pop at Google, this time with the help of MetaVis Technologies. MetaVis, which develops software to help organize SharePoint and Office 365 environments, launched a new migration wizard that can quickly move content from Google Apps to Office 365.
With the expanded MetaVis Architect Suite customers can migrate File Shares, Google Drive, Exchange Public folder or SharePoint content to SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint Online.

It's inevitable when you get a big release like Microsoft’s upgrade of Office 365 yesterday that a bunch of vendors will following up with tools to complement the release.
