It was inevitable that at this year’s LegalTech conference eDiscovery-related announcements would abound. So the announcement that archiving specialist Mimosa (news, site) and legal consulting and risk management company Navigant have integrated their products is not really that surprising. Between the two, they hope to be able to deploy software that cuts the costs of eDiscovery while providing a more efficient and more streamlined product.

Mimosa (news, site)--not to be confused with the plucky and oh-so-delicious beverage—recently announced Mimosa NearPoint's new support for SharePoint Server 2010. The  archiving solutions provider will be demonstrating their extension of information management for Microsoft's newest version of its document management platform at this year’s Microsoft SharePoint Conference, located in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

It was only four months ago that Mimosa Systems (news, site) released NearPoint for SharePoint. Today the vendor launches a major version of its solution for archiving, eDiscovery and business user productivity, NearPoint 4.0.

With many new features and functionality aimed at putting some pep in the step of the eDiscovery process, NearPoint 4.0 enhances content management, archiving and data capture.

Just recently we commented on the partnership between Digital Reef and FAST, the search technology and Microsoft subsidiary. It seemed to go so well, that Digital Reef (news, site) has announced another partnership, this time with Mimosa.

Mimosa (news, site) works to implement extensive eDiscovery solutions within the enterprise. Additionally, their Nearpoint archiving solution just joined the ranks of visionary, according to Gartner.

The title of visionary isn't one that is handed out as readily as it once was. Move over Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford. Make room for Mimosa (news, site).

The email and file archiving solution provider has been named a Visionary Vendor by Gartner, Inc. in its “Magic Quadrant for E-Mail Active Archiving.” But it didn't happen over night. Mimosa spent the better part of the last year adding new features to its Mimosa NearPoint platform to support eDiscovery, search and compliance.

Continuing their monthly trend, Mimosa Systems (news, site), a leader in next-generation email, file and SharePoint archiving solutions, has announced that it has expanded the company's operations across Canada in response to increasing eDiscovery requirements.

Having opened an office in Ottawa, Ontario, Mimosa plans to expand their sales, marketing, technical support and engineering resources in hopes of offering Canada eDiscovery solutions focused on customer engagement.

It shouldn't be too hard though, since NearPoint, a content archiving solution, was recognized as a core component of a comprehensive solution for addressing the principals of electronic discovery in Canada as outlined by The Sedona Conference(R) Working Group 7, "Sedona Canada." Within those principals, the significance of eDiscovery was acknowledged and understood.

In December Mimosa released the NearPoint Retention and Classification Option. In January, they introduced the "Move to Mimosa" Legacy Migration Program. What is new for Mimosa Nearpoint in March you ask?

Delivery of its Mimosa NearPoint for SharePoint content archiving solution to support retention, eDiscovery and recovery.

For companies faced with limitations in their first-generation email archiving systems, who are contemplating the inevitable compliance-related upgrade with trepidation due to the sheer mass of data already archived in the old system, Mimosa now offers a "Move to Mimosa" Legacy Migration Program.

Earlier this fall Mimosa released a new solution -- email archiving -- as an addition to its NearPoint product. Tomorrow, they'll announce another new addition, aimed at classifying and tagging archived content.

Mimosa NearPoint Retention and Classification Option (RCO) is an add-on module to the Mimosa NearPoint platform that can help organizations lower storage costs and expedite eDiscovery by enabling automated management of user-generated content based on policy.
