Guess Where Kevin Cochrane Popped Up?

Just a year ago, Kevin Cochrane was a keynote speaker at OpenText Enterprise World 2013. This week, at OpenText's 2014 conference in Orlando, Fla., Cochrane is nowhere near the stage.

His days as CMO of the Canadian enterprise information management provider — which followed several years as vice president of enterprise marketing at Adobe — are behind him.

Cochrane left OpenText in July.

In September, he was named CMO at Mindjet, a project-based collaboration software company. He remained in that position less than two months.

Cochrane no longer maintains any references to Mindjet on his LinkedIn profile. Instead, he states that he is a member of the board of both the Digital Clarity Group (DCG) and Jahia.

He also notes that he is CMO of San Mateo, Calif.-based Agari, a Cisco-spawned company that develops data-driven security solutions powering real time cyberthreat detection prevention for global companies and their customers.

Mindjet Predictions Module Could Help You Execute Your Ideas

The first major advancement in the Mindjet brand after its 2013 merger with Spigit is out.

The San Francisco-based enterprise innovation management software provider debuts this week a new module for the Engage innovation platform it acquired with Spigit.

The module is called "Predictions," and officials at the social business provider say it essentially turns organizational ideas into execution by finding value through science.

Post Spigit Merger, Mindjet Works on 'Transformative' Offering

The merger between enterprise software providers Mindjet and Spigit a year ago has produced ... well, you'll have to wait a little more for specifics.

The big reveal on what the merger will bring won't come until the company's conference next March.

But it promises to be "transformative," according to San Francisco-based Mindjet's new chief marketing officer, Kevin Cochrane, who started last month after stints as CMO at OpenText and product vice president of digital marketing Adobe.

Mindjet is expected to serve up an appetizer of its product suite next week, but the full reveal doesn't come until the March conference, Cochrane told CMSWire.

PaperG's Victor Wong: Save Time, Cut Costs with Programmatic Creative

2014-24-june-victor-wong.jpg

Victor Wong wants to make “designing for ads an easier experience.” And as co-founder and CEO of PaperG, a San Francisco, Calif.-based advertising technology company, that's exactly what he is trying to do.

Wong founded PaperG in New York City about six years ago — before the term “programmatic” had even been coined to describe the space the company now occupies. The now 60-person team began with very little capital and fairly simple mission: to reduce “creative friction.”

Wait. What "creative friction"?

“We tried to help print advertisers and publishers transition to digital. We saw ourselves as part of the generation that was going to make paper into a digital medium. There was — and remains — huge creative friction when trying to transform content that is paper based into digital content or creative,” he said.

Over time, the company's focus has shifted. As more content has become digital, PaperG has tried to turn itself into the “Ikea” of the ad world. “We are trying to make high-end design accessible and affordable to everyone, to find out what works for some people and then apply it to everyone,” he said.
