Finnish mobile maker Nokia is holding its London launch event and has promised a summer of major launches. First up is the Nokia Lumia 925, an aluminum-cased design, plus the arrival of Hipstamatic on Windows Phone. 

Nokia has taken the wraps off the leaking-like-a-sieve Lumia 928 which will be available on Verizon for just $100. Aside from all the cool camera and video features, the slightly more conventional styling makes it look like a grown-up phone compared to some of the toy brick Lumia designs. 

Photos and video are so easy to shoot on phones, it is easy to overlook the quality differences, and few of us shoot enough video across devices to compare the results. So, Nokia is taking its message to the streets (well, YouTube) with direct comparisons against rival models.

One of Nokia's lesser-kept secrets, the 928, is officially out of the bag with a single image on a teaser page, while some new advertising suggests what's to come.

 Leading Windows Phone maker Nokia is inviting the press to an event next month to show off the future of the Lumia range. Expect more than just the Lumia 928 as the company pushes out from its recent turnaround. 

Apple will announce smartphone and tablet sales today that almost any other company (bar Samsung) would be proud of. But, since Apple has built itself and its image up to such heights, they are almost inevitably going to be viewed as a failure by the market.

 Starting off the big speeches on day one at Mobile World Congress, Nokia did some filling-in around its Lumia range, but left the high-end untouched. A shame, as rest of the show focuses on the future of mobile.
