Open Text (news,site) is putting one of their recent acquisitions -- Nstein -- to a good use. Like many others in the Enterprise CMS field, Open Text is after web engagement with better search experience and a chance at a more intelligent navigation.

More this week about the ongoing Google Docs -- Microsoft Office tit-for-tat with the addition of Office 2010 capabilities to Facebook. Google shrugs it off and upgrades app for Outlook migration.

Open Text (news, site) launched Open Text Media Management 7, the next version of its Artesia-acquisition-based Digital Asset Management (DAM) product.

Among new features -- redesigned user interface, business process management automation; as well as integration with ECM, WCM and mobile devices.

Open Text (news, site) is starting to reveal its plans in regards to the recently closed deal on Nstein Technologies. Just as we thought, the first bets are on Nstein’s Text Mining Engine (TME) -- now known as Open Text Content Analytics -- and its integration with the entire Open Text Enterprise CMS Suite.

Hey, look, it took no time at all. As we predicted a little while ago, Open Text (news, site) is getting ready to make yet another acquisition in the Web CMS space.

This time around, it’s their Canadian neighbor Nstein Technologies Inc. (news, site) -- the makers of TME (Text Mining Engine). Data mining and analysis, and not necessarily WCM or DAM, is likely the main focus of this deal.

Nstein (news, site) recently stepped up their relationship with evolve24, an analytics research firm in St. Louis. The collaboration gives evolve24 access to Nstein’s handy Sentiment Analysis module, allowing them to quickly determine an article’s overall tone for key insight into a company’s representation.  

"Reputations are built over time and are the response to actions taken by a corporation,” explained Scot Wheeler, Vice President of Strategy & Client Services for evolve24. “For example, reputation can be hurt by unaddressed negative responses to products and services, including poor customer support, regulatory or legislative issues, insensitive ad campaigns, or any perceived affront to an audience, while a new product announcement, a viral campaign or launch of user groups may create highly positive coverage in influential publications and blogs which will help build reputation.”

Wheeler estimates that one person at peak performance can detect the tone of 25 articles per hour. Nstien's technology will reportedly boost that number to tens of thousands of pieces of content per day and still require only one person to manually test and verify results.

Semantic search has been the new black in the high fashion of content management and the industries around it. Nstein (news, site), a provider of Web CMS, DAM and text-mining technologies, just released a new product -- which they say is more flexible, intuitive and extensible than Google Search Appliance -- called Semantic Site Search, or the “new kind of site search,” as the vendor humbly refers to it.

We had a chance to get an early demo and talk to Eric Williams, Nstein’s product manager, who told us all about his "little baby" under the code-name 3S. It may be a newborn, but it comes with a strong featureset of multi-index federated search, embedded Text Mining Engine, semantic widgets and a more flexible presentation layer.

Endeca (news, site), the search applications company that kicked out an Information Access platform earlier this year, is stepping it up a notch.

Through the expansion of their Extend Partner Program, Endeca hopes customers will find it easier to integrate text analytics with said platform. On board with their endeavor is a name our readership might me more familiar with: Nstein.

With the planned Fall 2009 release of a feature-rich up-grade to its Text Mining Engine (TME), Nstein Technologies (news, site) is taking semantic metadata firmly into the world of Web 3.0.

For anyone that is not aware already, Nstein is a global specialist provider of solutions in the online media and web publishing world. TME 5.0, the company says, will include enhancements to linguistic abilities, Web 3.0 compliance and a number of new tools that will give users greater control over semantic metadata.

The results of the 2009 CODiE Awards are in and Clickability (news, site) is rising to the top for a second year in a row. They have won the award for Best Content Management System.

To enable users of their digital publishing solution the ability to conduct faster, more accurate image searches, enterprise content management provider, Nstein (news, site), will integrate the Imprezzeo image-based search engine with its Text Mining and search products.
