Day Software released three new editions of CRX, Day’s famed JSR-170-compliant Java Content Repository (JCR). PaperThin, the producer of ColdFusion-based Web CMS CommonSpot, announced that its 2008 Q2 and Q3 revenues shattered all company records, having grown an average of more than 50% year over year. Furthermore, the company’s average deal size increased by more than 30%.

Now, it’s time to update the product, perhaps. And PaperThin plans on doing so in 2009. The last major product release from PaperThin was in October, 2007, when CommonSpot 5.0 came out.

Yahoo!’s Zimbra Takes Educators Into the Cloud

Following this week’s Windows Azure announcement by Microsoft, the ball was in the competition’s court. And Yahoo! responded with a cloud-related announcement of its own.

Yahoo! announced that it will offer the Zimbra Collaboration Suite as a hosted solution for educational institutions. According to Zimbra, over 500 schools are already using Zimbra. This hosted solution is currently available exclusively to .edu’s. Who knows — maybe, if all goes well, the solution will expand its wings beyond the .edu market.

SpringCM v4.5: ECM With Better Process Management

SpringCM released version 4.5

In addition to recently wowing the CMS world by giving away a f*ree edition of its records management module, SpringCM just released version 4.5 of its SaaS Enterprise Content Management System.

The new release, while heavily focused on process management, also includes enhancements designed to improve document-centric processing and the SpringCM user experience.
