The products, Vignette Video services and the latest incarnation of Vignette's Rich Media Services, let organizations streamline video management and put it center stage in their overall Web strategy. These additions should lead to increased viewer time spent on site, improved customer engagement and more revenue using video as a significant source of site content.

Accordent Technologies has released an expanded version of its Accordent Media Management System to include support for TANDBERG video conferencing systems and Flash presentations.

Media Management System is a centralized CMS framework for managing multimedia assets like streaming video and audio, video presentations, lectures, and webcasts.

Features are roughly what you would expect from traditional Enterprise CMS products - content management portal, user authentication and tracking, workflow functionality and so forth, except for two key differences.

The first is, obviously enough, that this CMS is specifically designed for managing multimedia.

Once the domain of niche players and home grown applications, established CMS vendors are moving into the realm of rich media asset management. One such well-known provider, Vignette, makes a play with the announcement of its Rich Media Services add-on module.

You bet it can. Yesterday Nirvanix released its media app-rich Storage Delivery Service to the general public. The offering is gunning for a market dominated by Amazon's Dynamo-powered S3, which admittedly lacks a few stock Nirvanix charms.
