The race for enterprise 2.0 stardom is on. Companies like Microsoft, Adobe,  Amazon and Skype have all been in recent news regarding the topic.

Sadly,  SuiteTwo, an Intel-backed enterprise 2.0 suite, is dropping out when competition is tough and the economy is even tougher.

With the economy growing worse by the day companies are looking to do everything they can to eliminate dead weight. Much like when SixApart nabbed Pownce and stated they were shutting it down, MySpace is following suit and may shut down Flektor.

Flektor is a slideshow creation tool that MySpace acquired back in 2007. At the time the acquisition seemed to make sense. Flektor’s goal was to provide a way for users to generate quality, video-style content without all the poorly-shot or stolen video you see around the web generated by users.

With the move to a new infrastructure finally nearing completion, TypePad is starting release more new features designed to take your blog's community to the greater social web. Three new features recently implemented include profiles, enhanced commenting and TypePad Connect.

All these enhancements and the latest batch of TypePad powered services -- AntiSpam, Blog It, Blog Link  -- demonstrate the work that Six Apart is doing with TypePad to make blogging a much more community oriented world.

Six Apart, the producer of blogging platform Movable Type, has announced layoffs of up to 8% of its full time staff. The company behind other popular products and services such as MT Pro, Vox and TypePad is a force in the blogging world. Movable Type is a very popular blogging platform, powering many Weblogs on the Internet.

In addition to laying off 16 employees, the entire management staff is taking a 15% pay cut.

SixApart, creators of TypePad and the Facebook BlogIt tool (among many other things), is in the news again. This time they have created a blog anti-spam plugin for TypePad. Here’s the kicker, though…it works with WordPress also. Watchout Akismet…here comes TypePad AntiSpam.
