Getting customer feedback into new products has always been a good idea.  Now Pleasanton, CA based Spigit, a self-described crowd innovation company, is making a game of that process with its new FaceOff application. By turning voting on brand directions into a game, the company looks to engage their customers while generating new ideas.

In the world of idea management, even Spigit (news, site) admits that it can be difficult to ensure manual contribution from key authorities. Today's release of Spigit 3.1 and the new SpigitFusion automate that process, promising improvement in the quality of decision-making and pace of innovation.

Granicus (news, site) boosts its presence in the governmental cloud with the snappy purchase of a company that shares its vision of open government.

 Spigit (news, site) continues to prove that its idea management platform is a solution worthwhile. This week the company reported record business results for the first half of fiscal 2010, including new customers, products and revenue growth.

 Spigit (news, site) is back in the news this week thanks to a partnership with Strategic Decisions Group. By combining forces, the pair promises to deliver collaborative, enterprise-level idea management solutions to Global 2000 companies and select government organizations.

Today Spigit (news, site) released a new iteration of their enterprise-level idea management platform, S3. The new version focuses on flexibility and scalability by bringing a new widget-based framework to the table.

When the White House issued guidance that said  Federal agencies should take advantage of social computing software to help them promote an open government, Spigit (news, site), a provider of innovation management solftware, decided to step up and help out.

Innovation management appears to be a popular module for many social software solutions. But it is also a solution that stands on its own -- and there are a number of vendors, like Kindling, out there to prove it.

We continue our weekly SMB Tech Rollup this time with the news that many SMBs are getting worried about IT security, but are happily embracing the cloud.

In addition, Microsoft and Intuit are getting together in the cloud, HP and Cisco could be helping SMBs with new pricing arrangements, and Spigit is focusing on better collaboration tools.

It seems Spigit (news, site) is off to a good start.  As "your center for innovation" the social networking solution recently arrived on the scene with a mission to provide SharePoint with cutting edge management.

Though their offering is nothing new for the enterprise, the company still managed to score US$10 million in equity investment dollars from Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm. Spigit will reportedly use the money to step up its customer base via the expansion of its product development, and sales and marketing efforts.

"Spigit's [...] software has helped change the face of innovation in the enterprise by creating an environment where innovation can become part of the corporate culture and novel ideas can be developed into actionable intelligence," said Patrick Severson, a Managing Director at Warburg Pincus, who is scheduled to join the Spigit board of directors at Warburg Pincus.
