Zoho Attempts to Bridge the Cloud and SQL
By Barb Mosher in Enterprise 2.0 on Dec 8, 2008
Everyone knows that the most important thing is the data itself and not the storage or access of it through applications. We don't need Zoho to tell us that. We also know that more and more we are using other storage formats for our data than relational databases -- take XML repositories for instance -- and that we are using other methods to retrieve our data other than SQL.
But what Zoho says we don't know, or don't realize, is that we can use the SQL query language to access our data even when it's not stored within a traditional relational database. At least we can now using Zoho's newest technology CloudSQL.

Open source DAM anyone? It has arrived — an open source enterprise-level DAM system named Razuna. Fathered by a Swiss company called SixSigns, Razuna comes to the world with its latest release 1.1.2. Albeit a point release, this version has a lot to offer (to some scenarios).
ECM Provider Clearview Gets Cozier with SharePoint
By Chelsi Nakano in Enterprise CMS on Nov 7, 2008
Being that Clearview Enterprise Content Management is, as they say, the first SharePoint-based solution, we think they rock pretty hard. Well, in the world of Microsoft at least.
And now, not even six months since we last reported an upgrade to Clearview ECM, they’ve gone and released version 5.0 (more rockage). The release offers lots of exciting changes and new features, including a new Business Process Management module and compatibility with Kofax 8.0.

Google Expands Data Visualization in the Cloud
By Jason Harris in Enterprise 2.0 on Nov 4, 2008One advantage to storing your data in-house, as opposed to storing the data remotely, is the ability to keep and track key metrics on this data. Visualization and reporting tools allow us to keep tabs on data storage, usage and harvest these data for analysis.
For those looking at cloud computing options, what avenues for data visualization exist? Not many, which is why Google has announced new and expanded capabilities of Google Visualization API that will allow users to display data from virtually any data source connected to the Web.
