In the GRC space this week, there’s a lot of records management updates. Laserfiche has been showing off its iPhone records management app at ARMA, DocFinity has released a records management module, StoredIQ has also been working in records management, RSA and McAfee have formed a new partnership and Autonomy has released new policy management software.

It’s been a busy week in GRC. OpenText has released new application governance and archiving software, StoredIQ offers risk assessments of SharePoint environments, EMC and eMag partner to offer e-Discovery, and there’s research from Varonis on metadata and GFI on email archiving.

In GRC this week there have been a number of releases in the e-Discovery space, including a StoredIQ solution for SharePoint  and enhanced search across Clearwell's e-Discovery platform. There are also indications that we may be heading toward an e-Discovery standard. Meanwhile, both Viewpointe and Agiliance have issued new releases.

In a busy week for GRC there have been a few notable releases that are worth looking at. The first is from StoredIQ , which has upgraded its e-Discovery support for SharePoint, while Digital Reef has made its e-Discovery a lot more mobile. In other news, Archive Systems has upgraded its records management platform.

Earlier this month, the team behind StoredIQ (news, site) took its Intelligent Information Management Platform and joined NetApp’s Alliance Partner Program. The partnership allows StoredIQ to integrate NetApp storage into their platform, providing better performance and scalability to the corporate infrastructures that utilize it.

Is your data wild? Unruly, even? For data in the wild, StoredIQ (news, site) lets you Analyze Anywhere. That’s the name of their new early case assessment solution (ECA) that enables users to perform early case analysis on data, well anywhere.

StoredIQ now offers classification-based security, available immediately. Now users can grant access to potentially responsive data for audits, investigations and eDiscovery requests based on content classification, rather than only physical location, such as server, share or directory structures.

Fresh off of an US$ 8 million investment used to expand their information management and eDiscovery solution, StoredIQ has put their money where their mouth is and announced the StoredIQ Desktop Agent solution.

Designed for "organizations who have geographically distributed sites, a highly mobile workforce, or a large number of employees" or as most call it, global CMS, the Desktop Agent Solution provides a central management console and network of friendly software agents to help filter and retrieve data related to search and discovery.

Information governance -- historically a bottom-up practice and now the responsibility of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) managers -- has been pushing its way into boardrooms around the world. Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, The Basel II accords and similar regulations have triggered this trend.
