Telerik (news, site) launched a new site to highlight the power, flexibility and compatibility of its ASP/.NET-based content management system.

The best advertising for any product is to see it in use, which is why Telerik's showcase site looks pretty slick and features a gallery of about 375 real-world examples of Sitefinity CMS in use.

This Web CMS offers Silverlight tools and controls, and .NET reporting and management, which gives it wide appeal.

Perhaps, Telerik chose now to show off as it is starting to face a lot of competition with the open source, .NET-based Umbraco CMS proving itself in the market and Kentico with its new release due any day now.

Packed with a Flash tour, demonstration admin interface and a long list of awards, there is plenty of self-congratulation but also a decent guide to the systems behind the site.

There are also separate pages for business users and IT developers highlighting how those groups could benefit from deploying Sitefinitiy.

The start of summer seems an odd choice to start doling out awards (isn't that usually January/February?) but it hasn't stopped asp.netPRO from counting the votes in its 2009 Readers' Choice awards. It was the winner of the Best CMS that made us stop and pay attention.

In October of last year Sitefinity announced version 3.5 of the .NET built web content management solution. That new version was built for optimal performance among other new features and enhancements. With the increasing amount of content that needs be available to a global audience, performance issues are certainly a primary concern for organizations.

That is why Telerik has choosen to not only provide performance optimization within its content management system, but they have also announced the integration of Sitefinity with Amazon S3 for cloud-based storage.

Telerik has just rolled out the latest version of Sitefinity, their light weight ASP.NET web content management system.

In version 3.6 of Sitefinity CMS developers will see a new backend architecture and a new API for improved extensibility. On top of this there is a number of other cool enhancements that made us dizzy with excitement. According to the company, the goal of 3.6 is to "empower developers to tweak every aspect of the core system." We'd say they're getting close. Let's take a peek.
 

The J2EE/Java-based dotCMS content management system has recently been upgraded to version 1.6.5, which brings plenty of new goodies for those wanting a free and open source content management solution capable of handling enterprise-level tasks.

Economy is sluggish, but .NET-based CMS vendors are thriving. Telerik with its Sitefinity CMS is not an exception.

The company released a new product version — v3.5 — aimed to enhance the overall performance of the CMS, as well as to introduce some new features. The beefed-up version boasts optimized performance and AJAXified controls, among other enhancements.

The finalists have been chosen for the Best of Tech•Ed 2008 Developer Awards presented by Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro® and SQL Server Magazine®.

One name that made list that we are all familiar with is Telerik’s Sitefinity CMS. It was named as one of four finalist for the Developer Tools category.

Telerik is a provider of developer tools and components for .Net. Their Sitefinity CMS product has been designed for the both the developer and the end user. According to Telerik CEO Vassil Terziew, they have worked hard to provide a product that includes a comprehensive development platform for developers, but is still easy to use.

Their hard work seems to have paid off. Still, they are up against some pretty stiff competition including the popular NetAdvantage Suite from .Net Infragistics, Intercept Studio’s AVIcode and JNBridgePro’s JNBridge.

Telerik, a vendor of developer tools and components for .NET, has beefed up its Sitefinity CMS with version 3.2, adding a number of nifty new features to their website, intranet and community portal development platform.

Working to keep up with the blistering pace of the Web cms market, Telerik releases an update to their Sitefinity product, and lo, its brimming with usability improvements.

While PHP and Java have been increasingly labeled the tech platforms of choice for Web CMS solutions, .NET remains a favorite for many ISV’s. And even if the pairing of .NET and content management typically inspires thoughts to wander towards MOSS, a plethora of other options certainly exists for those looking.

One such candidate is Telerik’s Sitefinity Web CMS.

One of our favorite ASP.NET component vendors, Telerik, has recently launched an AJAX developer center portal. Its pretty light weight for the time being and is obviously geared towards Telerik’s own ASP.NET rich callback component suite, but does offer some valuable resources for those just getting started with rich client AJAX dev.

Made known, but not officially announced yet, Microsoft have decided to sponsor the integration of the Telerik r.a.d. editor as a replacement for their HTML placeholder control, in Microsoft Content Management Server 2002.

This is good news. Having personally worked with the Telerik editor on a number of occassions and having worked with Microsoft's HTML placeholder for MCMS, I can say that the Telerik control is far superior, offering significantly improved functionality for authors, developers, and integrators.
