Microsoft SharePoint parts maker VirtoSoftware has released a project planning and management template for managing SharePoint projects.  The “ready-to-use” plugin offers planning, task and resource management as well as reporting tools in the SharePoint environment.

Version 2.0 includes a significant number of new features including extended search, filtering, management and reporting.

Virtosoftware, which offers over 20 components for SharePoint 2007 and 2010, has announced the availability of a new data pivot view web part. This component allows users to explore large amounts of SharePoint data in a single view.
