Mark your September calendars! Gartner will present its 2008 summit on Portals, Content and Collaboration September, 17 - 19, in Los Angeles, CA. Gartner’s events are always fun due to their reputation as a well-known technology research and advisory firm and this sure looks like an event worth attending.

With a focus on innovation, Gartner will hold its first ever Innovation Panel, in which the CEOs of open innovation network organizations will share their insights on innovation. They will coach us on how to look for and find innovation and, most importantly, on how to protect innovative ideas.

The Gilbane Group has announced its Boston conference agenda, as well as the pre-conference workshops. The conference is scheduled to take place December 2-4, 2008, at The Westin Copley Place in Boston, MA. While the full conference program is not yet published, we already have some insight into what will be on Gilbane’s menu this time around.

The agenda includes two days filled with all kinds of enterprise search, WCM, content strategies and social media fun. And this is just a tip of the iceberg!

If you were under the impression that the WCM market was overpopulated, think again. There’s yet another addition to the happy WCM family – a little baby named Edicy. Fraktal, a start-up software company based in Tartu, Estonia, is behind the new CMS tool.

We’ve been watching Edicy for more than a couple of weeks now trying to figure out where it is going. We still are waiting, but thought we’d share what we know so far.
