A new partnership between SaaS Web CMS provider CrownPeak (news, site) and Magus (news, site) targets governance-concerned organizations managing their web content in the cloud.

We finished with conference day 1 of J.Boye 2011. Today I’ve focused on the web content management and online strategy tracks, attended Bob Boiko’s opening keynote and unfortunately managed to disrupt the HTML5 session conducted by Philippe Le Hegert of the W3C with a blood-curdling scream.

As you may have heard, governance and content migration vendor Vamosa (news, site) fell into administration, despite the recent investment of £1 million through Glasgow-based Maven Capital Partners. According to our sources in the U.S., Vamosa has been sold.

The tools called WebWorks are partially still in the works, coming from an expected source – Vamosa (news, site) – and designed (as ever so slightly hinted in the name) to make the web work and work better with proper controls by web managers.

Armed with new ideas and inspired by great conversations, we bid adieu to the JBoye Philadelphia 2010 conference, where governance was a hot topic this year.

There was a lot of talk about planting web governance seeds to grow beautiful governance flowers as it pertains to future-proof intranets, governance in social media and ways to exercise it most efficiently. According to some, governance is just like sex.

Not long ago, we discussed Vamosa’s (news, site) work in the Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG) field and their new Check and Fix tool.

Recently, the vendor extended its Check and Fix functionality to cater more to eDiscovery and web records management scenarios.

The notions of web and enterprise content governance are gaining more and more attention -- partially, due to growing concerns around eDiscovery and other compliance challenges. Everyone has some sort of content (and its volumes are growing at the speed of light), but do you have standards, policies and procedures around it? How do you enforce them?
