Sitecore (news, site) has unleashed the latest version of its web content management system. Among the new features in version 6.2 are RSS feeds for workflows, MS Outlook integration for workflow notifications, Web forms and some asset upload functionality using WebDAV.

While many of these features may sound a bit yesterday in the world of web content management, Sitecore users will probably welcome them with open arms. Better late than never, as they say.

For their V8 release, the Austin, Texas-based WCM firm Vignette (news, site) has focused on WebDAV support in an effort to take some off the load of IT departments, and put more control in the hands of end business users. The new release also incorporates AJAX portlets designed to increase access to rich media and social networking apps.

Recently, open source Sense/Net 6.0 Content Management System has gotten an upgrade targeted towards making the system more developer-friendly.

If you’re a .NET developer wanting to get more love from Sense/Net 6.0, your time is now. Let’s check out the new WebDAV support and upgraded interface in Sense/Net 6.0 Beta2.

As we previously covered this past April Google’s been working away on a PowerPoint killer, which as of today has been launched.

Even if its not actually much of a PowerPoint killer yet, there are some spiffy aspects to it — namely the Audience feature, Revisions and Sharing for starters. And as the feature set builds-out to cover for things like the total absence of any drawing capabilities, it will surely and incrementally sport away some of the MS Office faithful.

OpenCms just released version 7.0.0 of its open source content management solution. Yeah, that last .0 bugged us too.

Major features (per our very to-the-point friend Seth) include WebDAV support, a content relationship engine for dependency management, an undelete feature, and point in time previews.

That last is particularly nifty; it lets you take a glimpse of what the site looked like, or will look like, for a particular date or time. Oh, if only mirrors worked that way.
