There have been a number of new releases that should appeal to SMBs this week including a new version of SpringCM’s cloud-based enterprise content management system. There’s even some free cloud space too.

With the acquisition of eWebHealth, Hyland Software (news, site) has not only tightened its grip on the healthcare market, but also adds new solutions provided by eWeb, in particular medical records and revenue cycle workflow solutions.

As we saw at the Enterprise 2.0 conference last week, we’re sitting on a rapidly growing pile of internal tools, databases, client media, feeds, Web 2.0 networks and applications.

There’s no sign that growth will slow or stop anytime soon, so, to help the smaller guys manage the mountain, Netvibes and Sage ERP X3 are working together to bring small to mid-sized companies new innovations for managing and personalizing the workforce environment.

Essentially, the two companies hope to bridge the gap between professional enterprise tools and personal Web 2.0 applications and content by combining Sage's business software expertise with Netvibes' personal dashboard publishing know-how. 

"Employees aren't asking for tools to make their workdays more complicated,” explained Freddy Mini, CEO, Netvibes. “Instead, businesses looking for ways to make things simpler and easier for employees to manage many different tasks at once...”

The folks at open source cms SilverStripe (news, site) recently released SilverStripe 2.4 alpha. This release contains a number of improvements, but one in particular involves a new module designed to improve CMS publishing workflow.

Sitecore (news, site) has unleashed the latest version of its web content management system. Among the new features in version 6.2 are RSS feeds for workflows, MS Outlook integration for workflow notifications, Web forms and some asset upload functionality using WebDAV.

While many of these features may sound a bit yesterday in the world of web content management, Sitecore users will probably welcome them with open arms. Better late than never, as they say.

Who knew there were so many vendors out there specializing in SharePoint (news, site) web parts and add-ons? Virto Software is one of these vendors and they are offering an add-on kit to SharePoint Designer for extended workflow activities.

Perceptive Software (news, site) -- the makers of  document management, workflow and imaging  products -- has just released version 6.4 of its ImageNow product suite, only four days after it announced revenues for fiscal year 2009 of US$ 84M.

While it comes with a number of new, or improved, features including eForms, better workflow views and out-of-office workflow routing, according to Perceptive CEO Scott Coons, v6.4 collectively adds better functionality across the entire system.
