The Information Technology Education Expo (ITEX) 2008 trade show, billed as the only national event in one forum that includes nearly every aspect of the document solutions marketplace, is coming to Las Vegas, Nevada February 21-22.

From copying and printing hardware parts and supplies, to document work flow applications and software, to professional services, there’s a little something for everybody at this event.

One nifty thing about EchoSign is it lets users “sign” documents electronically from any browser. This means you don’t have to run to FedEx Kinko’s to use that oldfangled fax machine-a-majig.

Quark Software has released Quark Publishing System 7 (QPS 7), an update of their collaborative work-flow tool which integrates with the ubiquitous desktop-publishing behemoth: QuarkXpress 7.

Web content management vendor Asbru has just released version 6.6 of their flagship product. As you may recall, version 6.5 included improvements to their content migration and import abilities, and their product’s search engine friendliness.

This latest update significantly improves the core workflow features. Specifically, they have added an advanced workflow engine to manage the publication processes for all website content.

Canon, a familiar word in the digital imaging space, has joined forces with New Hampshire-based eCopy to bring enterprise document management to Canon India. The eCopy ShareScan Open Platform enables users to extend the capabilities of Canon’s black and white or color digital multi-functional devices. With eCopy the devices can act as a bridge, converting volumes of paper to high-resolution electronic copies — bridging document workflows and creating integration points with back office systems.

In response to the twin concerns of business process efficiency and business records compliance, HP is teaming up with Vignette to deliver what they are calling the most complete Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solution available today.

New Hampshire-based Ektron Inc., today added enhanced workflow capabilities to its Web Content Management (WCM) offering.

The new workflow features give managers control over their publishing processes by automating collaboration, management and approval of content assets. Organizations can now add content process control, including tasks management and progress monitoring.
