Social performance management technology provider WorkSimple unveiled an edition of its platform designed specifically for Yammer users at this week’s YamJam ’12 conference in San Francisco. WorkSimple says the new integration brings both enterprise social software vendors into direct competition with Salesforce’s recently released Work.com social performance management tool.

Despite the recent move to a freemium model, WorkSimple (news, site) continues to add features to its platform. And yet the question remains: Is WorkSimple social goals management or micromanagement-as-a-service?

There were a number of good things released recently in the SMB space including news from Zoho that it has made its Meetings tool Mac-friendly, while WorkSimple has released a free version of its social goals management app. Blue Tie through Breeze Social helps SMBs start effective social marketing campaigns, while HP offers enterprise print management to SMBs. Research also shows that SMBs are turning their back on the desktop.

There has been some interesting research into the SMB market and how it is likely to fare over the next year. Two things stand out: SMBs are still confused about cloud computing and spending on mobile devices is booming. Elsewhere, EMC has restructured its partner program to target SMBs and WorkSimple releases new performance management app.

The recent release of WorkSimple’s Goal and Performance management platform is the first time an entire platform has been dedicated to creating a results-based environment where enterprise managers can access and create enterprise objectives in real-time rather than the usual quarterly or even yearly reviews.
