Today begins LegalTech New York 2012 and, as you can imagine with it comes an onslaught of announcements and product releases. We rounded up a few of the ones being made today, for your convenience.

It’s been a slow start to the year in GRC, but it looks like one where e-Discovery is going to play a major role, at least according to Nuix. Axceler and MetricStream have both entered partnerships with Jornata and Qualys, while EntropySoft has released a new connector with ZyLab for better e-Discovery.

One of the biggest issues around e-Discovery, apart from the fact that many companies don’t bother about it until they’re hit with an e-Discovery demand, is access to information in the many different silos across the enterprise. The new OEM agreement between EntropySoft and ZyLab aims to solve that problem.

It's obvious that the International Legal Technology Association is having its annual meeting (this time in Nashville -- yee haw): E-Discovery vendors are coming out of the woodwork to make product announcements. Here's a few.

This week, McAfee upgrades Facebook protection to block all kinds of nasty bugs from getting in, GFI offers SharePoint log management for site governance, Coverity releases its upgraded code governance offering, while Zylab offers e-Discovery software that includes audio content identification.

Information access technology provider ZyLab (news, site) has just upgraded its email management software so that client companies will be able to archive directly from Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and Novell Groupwise.

The team over at ZyLab (news, site) recently scored themselves a new president and CEO for their U.S. headquarters in McLean.

Pieter Varkevisser will lead the company through their next stage of growth while former president and CEO Johannes Scholtes assumes the roles of Chairman of ZyLAB’s supervisory board and Chief Strategy Officer. 

Varkevisser brings a ton of experience to the table, including what he gained through his four year stint (2004-2008) as CEO of SDL Tridion. 

"ZyLAB has achieved a documented leadership position in the information access technology market with high-profile customers in commercial and government organizations around the world,” said Mr. Varkevisser. "I look forward to building off this solid foundation to continue to grow the company."

As the new Chairman of the supervisory board as well as the Chief Strategy Officer, Scholtes will research new technologies and products for the company as well as help bring those solutions to market.

“For the past 20 years, I have been very hands-on with nearly all facets of our company in my role as President and CEO of ZyLAB,” said Johannes Scholtes. “In that period ZyLAB has grown from a small start-up to an internationally recognized information access technology provider with offices worldwide and more than 100 employees. ZyLAB, a developer of Information Access solutions, recently announced the release of ZyIMAGE 5.0 service pack 7.

The upgrades to their solution are aimed to empower legal, eDiscovery, compliance and law enforcement users with enhanced operational efficiencies.

ZyLAB, a developer of information access solutions for the last 20 years, is announcing that it has finalized a technology partnership with Google that helps users search for and access public archives of information stored within secure ZyIMAGE XML repositories.

In plain English, this means pages upon pages of information that once resided outside of Google’s purview are now searchable for the everyday Googler. How did this come about?
