Tweet Jam: 2020 Vision – What's Next for the Digital Workplace? #DigWorkChat

Description

Let's get a head start on prediction season this year with a fast and furious discussion of what digital workplace trends we'll be watching out for in the year ahead. Will we get closer to finding a solution to technology and information overload? Will the four-day work week catch on? What methods will organizations uncover to improve employee experience? What new buzzword will be top of tongue this time next year?

Take some time away from your Thanksgiving preparations to join us on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10 am PT/ 1pm ET / 1800 GMT to discuss all this and more. The broader CMSWire audience is encouraged to join in using the #digworkchat hashtag. We'll be posting questions below the day before the conversation.

The Questions

The following questions will guide the conversation, but Tweet Jams can take us down some unexpected rabbit holes!

  1. What event or announcement or trend in the digital workplace space excited you the most in 2019?
  2. What workplace technology trend will you be following closely in 2020 and why?
  3. Microsoft recently concluded an experiment with the four-day work week in Japan. How else might we see the traditional 9-5 workday rethought in 2020?
  4. How do you see human resources (people operations, call it what you will) changing in the coming years?
  5. Gartner recently predicted digital transformation efforts in the coming years will take twice as long and cost twice as much for large organizations. Do you agree with this assessment and what outcome can we expect if it comes true?
  6. What impact do you think the coming advent of 5G will have on the workplace?
  7. What change do you hope to see in the workplace in the next five years?

Rules of the Road

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Introduce yourself with your first #digworkchat tweet. Include your name, job title and organization.
  • Answer question one with A1, question two with A2, etc. — and always include the #digworkchat hashtag. For example, "@bigbird A3 More organizations will provide employees flexibility in when and where they finish their work. The focus will be on the outcome, not the hours clocked. #digworkchat"
  • Please don't pitch products or services — stay knowledge focused.
  • Have fun!
