Intel Capital just made a US$ 218.5 million buy-in on virtualization company VMware, pocketing 9.5 million Class A shares (that’s US$ 23 per share) in the process.

Autonomy Acquires Zantaz for Risk Management Solutions

Autonomy, an enterprise infrastructure software purveyor, has just announced its purchase of ZANTAZ, which specializes in content archiving and e-discovery solutions software.

The pairing is expected to “redefine” information risk management by combining e-discovery, analytics, real-time policy management and consolidated archiving into one system.

ECM Mergers Continue, Oracle Grabs Stellent

California-based database and applications giant Oracle has finally made an Enterprise CMS acquisition. The company has announced that it will buy Stellent for $13.50 per share, or $440 million, in cash. The agreed amount is more than 25% above Stellent’s closing price on Thursday, a boon for Stellent stock holders. However, for Stellent’s customer base, the future may not be quite as rosy looking.

Google Acquires Web Office Suite

JotSpotFollowing close on the heels of recent Google applications developments. The company has acquired JotSpot, a “pioneering” publishing and collaboration company started in 2004 by Excite.com co-founders Joe Kraus and Graham Spencer.

The JotSpot apps includes a group directory, file cabinet, blog, forum, group calendar, photo gallery, poll and to-do list.

According to a statement released by JotSpot, JotSpot’s team and technology are a strong fit with existing Google products like Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Google Apps for Your Domain and Google Groups.

New registrations are temporarily disabled and the service will soon be free for existing users. There will of course be a migration period while the applications are integrated into Google’s infrastructure, but stay tuned as new versions of Google online apps suite takes shape, blending the JotSpot capabilities with GOOG’s latest releases.
