SpringCM has been busy again after offering free document management functionality last week to its VIP cloud content platform. This week, it has integrated Salesforce Chatter so users are kept up-to-date through Chatter when objects are added, or updated, in SpringCM.

An interesting question crops up time and again: Will today's major social networks turn to the enterprise market in the future? Business-oriented social networks are already popular among organizations and companies. But as Facebook and Google+ run out of markets to grow into, they will need to find more growth areas from within, and the enterprise is one big market ripe for the picking.

Technology research company Nucleus just released its bi-annual assessment of CRM applications and probably unsurprisingly, named Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce.com the leading vendors in the space.

Anyone who's familiar with Salesforce.com's Marc Benioff knows that he consistenly speaks about technology with notable enthusiasm, but somehow his keynote at this year's Dreamforce conference was even more so excited. Vibe Cloud, Novell's competitor for the enterprise collaboration pool, was released from beta this week. The company claims the platform is different from popular solutions like Chatter and Yammer, but it's a difficult thing to be original these days. Here's our take: 

Salesforce.com (news, site) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire the social media monitoring platform Radian6 for US $326 million.The plan is to integrate the service into Salesforce products Chatter, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and Force.com, clearly demonstrating the importance that social media engagement is playing in today's organizations.
