As well as announcing upgrades to its Office Web Apps today, Microsoft announced deeper integration between Yammer and Office 365, which are designed to make it easier to work with external customers and partners.

The battle for the hearts and pockets of productivity suite users has just intensified with the introduction of real time collaborative document editing for Office Web Apps. 

Office Web Apps are Microsoft’s browser-based, simplified versions of Office apps, consisting  of online versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Those products have not really gained the traction Microsoft was hoping for mainly because all the functionality they offered were already available in Google Docs.

With the expanded MetaVis Architect Suite customers can migrate File Shares, Google Drive, Exchange Public folder or SharePoint content to SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint Online.

Information Management Pros Don't Get Enough Respect, Report Finds

Everyone wants information, but too few people value the information management professionals who provide it. While 55 percent of knowledge providers say they add "a lot of value" to the enterprise, only 34 percent of executives say the same.

XenMobile MDM provides a unified, role-based management of mobile devices, apps and data with integrated email, browser and data sharing. It also offers Citrix’ Worx Mobile Apps, which Citrix says is the industry's largest collection of business-specific apps, including WorxMail for email, calendars and contacts, WorxWeb for Net and Intranet access and ShareFile for file synching and sharing.
