Fresh on the heels of being placed in the "Leaders" section of the first Gartner e-Discovery Magic Quadrant, Guidance Software (news, site) has announced a new version of EnCase that, among other things, supports Microsoft Office 365, expected to be announced this month.

With the release of Guidance Software (news, site) version 4 of EnCase eDiscovery, you can now perform analysis and first-pass review capabilities at any stage of the eDiscovery process, such as during collection, post collection, or during and after processing.

Recently we reported about the need for professionals to become certified in eDiscovery. Guidance Software has initiated a program that aims to do just that. Their EnCase Certified eDiscovery Practitioner program certifies private and public sector professionals in the use of Guidance Software's EnCase eDiscovery software. In addition, it also measures and encourages a proficiency in eDiscovery planning, project management and best practices.
