We've said it before so we'll say it again: Everybody's getting into the multi-platform chat game. The most recent solution to hit our radar is a little known application called imo.im, a Web based service that mimics popular alternative, Meebo.

The coolest thing about imo.im? It's one of the only multi-protocol services to offer Skype support. Oh, and it was co-founded by Georges Harik, an ex Engineer for a company you've probably heard of called Google.

Earlier this month we mentioned Zoho’s attempt at beautifying their shtick with an interface makeover. Continuing down a road much traveled, the Web-based productivity champs will be expanding even further by including some fancy new instant messaging functionality.

On April 1st, Zoho will go head-to-head with the likes of Meebo and Trillian by releasing Zoho Chat 2.0. Like its competition, the new version of the instant messenger enables users to chat with anyone, regardless of which IM network they are on.

Like your KickApps social media solution? You may like it even more now that they have launched a new app studio to help develop highly customized Flash applications which can include the integration of third party applications.

The Google Android bandwagon is currently a pretty sweet ride. One might even compare its level of functionality (thanks to the increasing number of available applications) to the likes of the Batmobile.

And since we can’t think of a single reason you wouldn’t want to take a joy ride in the Batmobile, it’s no surprise that companies of all sizes are gearing up to jump on. One of our recent favorites to make the plunge is the multi-platform chat service, Meebo.

Everybody’s getting into the multi-platform apps game (including Google, whose Maka-Maka may make mince meat of Facebook’s piddly open apps party). Even Apple’s opening to third-party apps for its iPhone offering.

Meebo is a hosted service that actually joins platforms instead of spreading seeds onto them. And frankly, it’s past due for a little disruption.
